Chipping Low Point Gate
Train consistent ball-first contact by controlling where the club reaches the bottom of its arc. This improves strike quality, reduces fat/thin chips, and creates more predictable rollout and distance control.
- Great chippers control low point slightly ahead of the ball.
- If you hit the towel, your low point is too far back. Try more weight on your lead leg/more shaft lean to help this.
- Think “brush the grass under the target side of the ball.”
- Keep chest slightly ahead of the ball to encourage forward strike.
- Low point control is one of the fastest ways to improve short-game consistency.
