What this drill fixes

Range practice only pays off if you can do it under pressure. This drill adds commitment, consequences, or game-like situations so you learn to perform when it counts. Part of TeeBetter's Pressure & Fun training — because every score is made or missed in the moments that matter most, and you have to train for those moments explicitly.

01 — THE CHALLENGE

Bunker 6 Hole Challenge

GOAL

Play six sand holes to realistic targets with a putter finish—commit to carry and conversion so bunker practice behaves like a scorecard, not endless rake-and-repeat.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Wedges Putter
COACH TIPS
  • Above all else, ensure to get the ball out the sand
  • Focus on using the sand to lift the ball out
  • Use length of swing and potentially change clubs to control your distances
  • Accept imperfect bunker shots
  • Commit to landing spot
  • Even tour pro's only get up and down from the sand around 50% of the time so set expectations accordingly

Common questions about Pressure & Fun drills

How do I practice under pressure at the range?

Use drills that add consequences: one ball only, call your shot then hit it, or simulate holes (e.g. fairway or miss, green or miss). TeeBetter's pressure and fun challenges give you a score and a par so you learn to commit when it counts — not just hit balls without consequence.

What's a good game-like range drill?

Drills that mimic course decisions: picking a target and shot shape, playing a "hole" with one chance, or finishing on a make (e.g. putt or chip). Score every attempt so you're training to perform under pressure — which is where all the shots are actually won and lost.
